Hut on Sleds
Designed to close up against the elements, the hut measures a mere 40 square metres and rests on two thick wooden sleds that allow it to be shifted around the beach front section. This innovative portability is a response to the ever changing landscape that line the beachfront in this coastal erosion zone.Within the hut, the ingenuity reveals itself further as no nook or cranny is overlooked. Every available space has been utilised, right down to the secret individual cubby holes hidden in the childrens bunk room." - Crosson, Clarke, Carnachan Architects

Simple Wood Stove Powered Water Heater
What a great idea, and nicely implemented. It's a simple copper coil wrapped around a stove pipe. The water in the tank circulates through the copper pipe as a result of convection. A handy way to heat water and temporarily store some heat in the room.

Tiny Whimsical Two Story Cottage
In March 2012, I moved to a 100+ year old farmhouse in southwest Michigan on 10 acres, my dream come true, sweeter still because it had a tiny cottage on a wooded hill.
This fall, I weatherized the cottage, added a small deck, an outhouse, painted it inside, furnished it, creating a writer's retreat. With its quirky angles and mismatched windows, it's been likened to a place from a Tim Burton movie, or from Dr. Seuss. No two windows match, each are at a different height. It's approximately 120 sq. feet on the main floor, 80 on the upper floor." - Zinta

Metapod by Jerome Levin
This tiny 125-square-foot abode has been designed by the artist Jerome Levin. Called the Metapod, it was created as a retreat for both children and adults alike. While small in size, the space packs a lot in terms of technology and usability; it features a study area, entertainment space, and a collapsible oak loft bed." – Niall

Macy's Tiny House
It is 196 s.f. . My house is built on the bed of a 24′ long (8 foot wide) flatbed trailer. It is built on a trailer not as much to be mobile so much as to have a work around from building permits and codes. Not that my house is unsafe by any means, I just saved the money that most people pay for building permits, I now have to go through the DMV and pay their fees associated (a lot less) to get the house licensed. I am using reclaimed/recycled/leftover materials for the most part. I have designed this all myself and have been constructing it with the help of my dad and my boyfriend, in my spare time." – Macy
